Well, if anything, you cant say this wasn't one of our more eventful trips!

In total a Party of 16 travelled from Aldergrove to Glasgow on 11th March 2006, 13 Members ; F.Cameron, W.Cameron, W.Rodgers, M.Fleck, T.McDowell, J.Crane, J.Cahoon, D.Beck, A.Patterson, A.McCloy, A.Linton, R.McAtamney and G.Watson. Visitors on this trip were : Billy Lovell (as always), Matt Anthony (former Member) and Jim Beck, whose trip was a 70th Birthday present from his son David and Partner Lorraine.

Members also tied-up with our Perth Branch Members and the Whifflet Branch provided Logistical Support.

Rangers were comfortable 4-0 winners against the Killie.

But the only dampner on the weekend was the freakish snowfall that beset glasgow and other areas at about 10.30pm on the Saturday night, F.Cameron and G.Watson did their best to get members ferried from Paisley back to the Glynnhill Hotel in Renfrew, however some of us had to walk the perilous journey through a blizzard, ie Finlay Cameron, George Watson, Alan Patterson and Mervyn Fleck. R.McAtamney secured transport for himself and left others stranded, this matter to be addressed by the Club Provost Marshal at earliest opportunity!

Needless to say the next day, the flights were cancelled and the Boat was the safest option for a return home, W.Rodgers, T.McDowell and W.Cameron decided to take their chances with flights and headed off to Whifflet with Willie Armstrong, the upshot being everyone had to sail home, just some got back a day later than everyone else!!!! The big sweat of the trip was making sure Jim Beck got home as he was due to fly out from Belfast to Lanzarote on the first flight the next day, thankfully this was the case. Special mention to the efforts of George Watson and David Beck in getting us home, also fair play to all Members who didnt fuss and accepted our fate with stern resolve.
